When a student asks a question, he or she leads the class, teacher and students in a direction of inquiry that may break new ground for learning. The ability to ask a question is in itself a freedom so valuable that it might be difficult for some students in many countries to even comprehend. Just as a student may lead the class, the teacher certainly must make choices daily about what is not only valuable, but vital for their students to know and understand.
